In 1998 Gabriela Cámara opened Contramar, her first restaurant in Mexico City. She has been responsible for over 11 restaurants and culinary projects ever since, and today is the director of her own business group- Grupo Contramar.  Through her projects and restaurants she has managed to fuse gastronomy and social responsibility, implementing programs of great social impact such as the social reintegration program at Cala, her restaurant in San Francisco, California. Gabriela is also part of several initiatives oriented towards sustainability and corporate environmental responsibility, fishing, food autonomy, environmentally sustainable and responsible agriculture, and access to quality foods in Mexico. Last year she published her first cooking book, My Mexico City Kitchen: Recipes and Convictions. 

En 1998 Gabriela Cámara abrió Contramar, su primer restaurante en la Ciudad de Mexico. Desde entonces ha sido responsable de abrir más de 11 restaurantes y hoy dirige de su propio grupo empresarial, Grupo Contramar. A través de sus proyectos ha logrado fusionar gastronomía y responsabilidad social, implementando programas de gran impacto, como es el caso del programa de reinserción social que lleva a cabo en Cala,  su restaurante en San Francisco, California.   Gabriela es también parte de diversas iniciativas de sustentabilidad y responsabilidad ambiental orientadas a la pesca,  la soberanía alimenticia, el cultivo responsable y el acceso a una alimentación de calidad en México. El año pasado publicó su primer libro de cocina,  My Mexico City Kitchen: Recipes and Convictions.
